One of our readers requested information about rock climbing in Northwest Arkansas. Where are the climbs in NWA?

One of my favorite places to climb in Northwest Arkansas is Lake Lincoln. There is a wide verity of climbs to choose from including trad, sport and bouldering.Lincoln is a small town, but they do offer a few places to eat and is close to Fayetteville.

New Updates to Arkansas Climbing Route Browser

I have added some images to the Lake Lincoln route browser. I need to get a few more things done to the pages of the Lake Lincoln climbing areas before I continue with the rest of the climbing areas in Arkansas. I have some route beta from Mt Magazine that was submitted by one of our members.

If you have images and route beta for rock climbing in Arkansas, submit it.

This long awaited guidebook provides comprehensive and up-to-date information on several of the major rock climbing areas in Arkansas, including the Sam’s Throne Area, Cave Creek, Owen’s Mountain, Rickett’s Mountain, Stack Rock, and Haw Creek.

If you would like to purchase the book, please visit the Boston MTN Press website. They will begin distributing the books to many of the area climbing gyms and outdoor retailers over the next few weeks.

I just got this e-mail from The Pack Rat. If you don’t get their newsletter you need to sign up for it.

“Hello to all, I wanted to spread the word that we will be having a meeting of the Arkansas Climbers Coalition (ACC) at the Pack Rat. The meeting is currently planned for Monday April 13th at 7:30pm. The purpose of the meeting is to let local climbers know about the group and to represent the organization in NW Arkansas. Currently the only meetings are held in Little Rock. If you have any questions please contact me at the store.

It would be great if we could get more people involved and help support the group.”

As close as this is to my home turf, I still can’t attend. I am in Chicago for the time being.
